Making a Difference

In 1936, led and inspired by Mrs. Phil C. Peters, twenty five members laid the foundation for the Winter Garden Welfare League. Much of the League's work for the first years of its existence centered around the West Orange County Day Nursery. In the 70 years that have followed, the West Orange Junior Service League has continued serving the community through various service projects and fund raising events.

Today the League impact is throughout the West Orange Community. Our purpose and objective are:

To foster an interest among the membership in the social, economic, educational, cultural, and civic needs of the communities of West Orange CountyTo train and engage the membership for efficient service in any public work or activity that may be undertakenTo raise finances through activities of the members with funds to be used for charitable purposes and for the maintenance and furtherance of the work and purpose of the organization

Today, local organizations rely on our help not for the extras, but for the basics.
